Dragons Dream TIO – The Thornbirds

I have to confess that I have never read this book, despite it being written by a fellow New Zealander. My Bad!

The Dragons Dream Tag It On team are using book titles for inspiration at the moment and this is my effort:

I coloured my kraft tag with various shades of distress inks over a stamped and embossed swirl. I then over stamped with Tim Holtz stamp and used another for my bird, also coloured with distress ink. The birds stamped directly on the tag are done in Stazon Dove Gray (so appropriate, lol).  I am really pleased with their subdued look.

I missed last weeks tag but will try really hard not to miss any more!  I am soooo tempted to apply for the design team.

I have done something . . .

I have done the two layout challenges for Scrapbook Dreams this month.

The first challenge was to do a layout about food and this is what I did:

The journaling is on the back of the middle tag and reads

“When Mum comes to stay we like to partake of the cheese and cracker starter, lol. We often don't get around to dinner.
On this visit Mum and I had some bonding time in the kitchen and we made a very nice plum jelly to go with our cheese.”

The mid-month sketch challenge was this one from Page Maps:

I chose to use photos of 6 special people in my life who have helped to shape me into the person I am today. Forgive the photo – it was taken in crap light!

Thanks for keeping an eye out for Mr Mojo.  He has made a brief appearance but seems to be in the mood to wander off at will.

Missing, Lost, Misplaced, Gone-Burger – Who knows where it is but if found, please return ASAP

That is all :(

12 Tags of 2012 - March

I was keen to give this technique a go.  You can see Tim Holtz’s tag here.

I didn’t add Glossy Accents to my mosaic pieces because they were from something I had printed on glossy photo paper (discovered at the very bottom of my scrap paper drawer).  The image was of NZ Paua Shell and the colours were just perfect.

I cut two different butterfly shapes on my Silhouette and because I don’t have any distress embossing powder, I decided gold would look pretty good.

The tag was distressed with coffee and edged with Walnut Stain distress ink.

And a close-up of the butterflies:

Thanks for dropping by to take a look.
