Talk about excited!
I have been given the amazing opportunity to teach a class at SENZ this year. The dates are Friday 30th June through to Sunday 2nd July.
My very good friend Trina McClune asked me last year if I would like to teach a "3-D" class on her behalf. Was I going to turn that down? Like heck I was, lol
Would you like to see what will be made in the class?
This vintage style project will provide you with functional
décor piece for your home. Or if you can bear to part with it, it would
make a beautiful, personalised gift.
6”x 6” papers are the perfect size for a project like this and most
paper crafters have some, if not many, of this size in our stash. This
class will show you yet another way to use 6” x 6” papers – for a
fabulous home décor piece.
In this class, I will show you how to build a unique and stylish
box from start to finish to keep greeting cards and mailing supplies
together, ready to send to friends and family.
Box making experience is not necessary.
The full measurements of each box component will be listed in the
instructions so that you can re-create this project time and again,
using papers that you already have.
We will use “Timeless Memories” 6x6 papers by Prima that provide a lovely vintage style.
This class is only going to be taught once at SENZ 2017, so don’t miss out!
Skill level: All levels welcome
My class will be held on Saturday 1st July at 2.30pm. There are still some places left and you can book here.

Harry Potter Inspired 21st Gift
A very good crafting friend has her "baby" turning 21 this month. The young lady in question is an avid Harry Potter Fan.
I wanted to give her something inspired by the Harry Potter books/movies but didn't want it to be gimmicky or simply purchased from a store.
I opted to use a pattern from Laura Dennison at Following The Paper Trail. It is a pattern for one of her Maple Street Shoppes. To be honest, I struggled with the instructions but that may well have been my head-space at the time.
Still - I got there in the end, mainly by following my instinct.
Here a few individual photos so you can see the details.

Roof tiles are made with wallpaper, run through an embossing folder and cut into strips. The shop walls are done with thickened paint (using Magic Powder from 13@rts) through a brick stencil. The base has cardstock run through and embossing folder and the raised areas inked to resemble cobblestones. The railings are black cardstock cut with a die from Couture Creations and layered for strength.
The wee potion bottles in the window are from Tim Holtz and I added a small amount of coloured Mica powder (meant for fingernails, lol). The barrel I found in my stash and the broom was made with twigs from the garden.
I found the mini Barbie doll and stand at The Warehouse and made her a Slytherin Cloak (the recipient's favourite Harry Potter House)
The roof of the shop lifts off and the inside houses a mini album dutifully decorated with the Slytherin Crest
I added an image of The Daily Prophet newspaper on the inside covers and the first page sports the rules and regulations for Hogwarts. The mini album is intended for use as a Guest Book at the 21st party - which is not Harry Potter themed at all.
Thank you to all the ladies at Autum Escape who took an interest in the start of the construction process - looks so much better finished, lol
Thank you for stopping by. Perhaps you could leave me a comment to let me know what you think.

I just called to say ....
I have just finished another awesome Vintage-style project.
This one is is from Laura Dennison at Following The Paper Trail and I have to say, I just LOVE it!!
The receiver is made from plumbing parts and I think they must be way cheaper in the USA because the bits cost me just over $48 at Mitre10. Shock, Horror, Heart Failure!
The papers are from Graphic 45's Communique Collection. It seemed an appropriate project to use them on.
Here are some larger individual photos for you too.
Thanks for looking in. As always, I would love to hear what you think so drop me a comment below.
Until the next post, take care.

Junk Journal for Tanya
Junk Journals are all the rage right now. There are Facebook Groups galore and loads of YouTube posts full of inspiration and ideas.
When Tanya Leigh put a call out to Facebook friends to gauge interest in making her a Junk Journal and incorporating her unique products, I put my hand up and here is the result.
I will be mailing the Journal out to Tanya this week but she was happy for me to share it straight away.

Kicking my Blog back into life!
I have been so remiss at putting up blog posts - Shame on me!!
It's well past time to kick both myself and blog back into life.
This is a project that I made back in April 2016 ! Where has the time gone?
It was a kit from My Creative Spirit in the UK. I can't remember the name of the kit but I don't spot it it on her website at present so I am guessing it id not currently available. Clare does have some other awesome kits to choose from however so be sure to take a look.
Don't ya just love the messy desk - not!!
The doors open to reveal two separate drawers while the mini album is housed in the space below the covered tray.
Never being one to follow instructions to the full, I made the mini album up on the fly.
Right - best I don't leave it so long to post again (Note to self!)
Take Care and Thanks for popping in.
Esther
